When hearing Savage speak thusly on the air it reminds me of historically how Hitler spoke of Jewish and Polish people. It amazes me that any radio station allows a man to speak out with such obvious hate toward a person or toward whole groups of persons. Granted the constitution grants free speech .. but when a station or stations allow hate messages on the air it just shows how corrupt some stations and the FCC are that they would allow this while prohibiting some other less atrocious things to be said on the air.

I have mixed thoughts whenever someone like Savage is on the air. The mostly cultured and educated part of society would be reminded of the evils of hate-mongering from people like him, and why there needs to be tolerance, understanding, and reading up on the truth about the LGBTs, especially the youths.

On the other hand, it takes just a few nutcases that listens this radio-man who sounds like he really belongs to a mental institution, to actually create a torrid atmosphere of violence towards the LGBT community, and at times even cause deaths.

Chris,
I don't think so because intersex experience is not the same as trans experience and both are totally different from one another. I see trans groups as groups who are trying to muscling in on the intersex and co-opt them.

Dear Nicky,

I am one of the organizers for this event. If you will please notice first, none of the people speaking are trans. One speaker is intersex but for reasons of privacy we did not include her on the public list of speakers. One of the topics covered will be the importance of making this distinction between trans and intersex. And we will hopefully discuss the sources for much of the intersex community's adversion to trans inclusion in the movement.
We posted on this website because we really need to get the word out somehow. We also advertised to MANY other organizations.

I am trans and I certainly do not conflate intersex with my identity. I recognize fully that intersex encompasses separate issues from trans and very differing experiences. However, I also think there is room for some overlap in rights of self-determination and autonomy.
I invite you to attend the event. It is going to be very informative and hopefully inspire people to support the intersex movement (if the movement will actually accept support from those who are not intersex).

Sincerely,
Chris

Will you please stop conflating intersex with transgender. Intersex is not part of the transgender community and stop co-opting the intersex community. What you people are doing is dangerously conflating the two and mixing up intersex with trans. I am sick and tired of trans people faking intersex and claiming to be intersex with you all don't know what it's like to be intersex.

This is not a crime of passion as they would have you believe. This is a hate crime and nothing more. It is also an unwanted sexual assault to the young Transgender person in the form of Angie Zapata. This man plainly shows that he is either homophobic or trans-phobic. He had no reason to kill this young person irregardless of his discovery of her having male genitalia. This man should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law as a hate crime perpetrator and charged with the charge of 2nd degree murder. He needs to go down and used to set an example of intolerance for hate crimes perpetrators. He freely admits to killing her and her referred to her as an "it" by his own words he said I "killed it". This is a sick man. There probably are many more just like him out there waiting to do this to yet another transgendered person. This proves that society as a whole still has an intolerance for diversity and still has prejudices towards people who are different.

What in gods name is wrong with this supposedly famous Dr. Zucker who is trying to convince parents and children that he knows everything about transgender issues and that he has a proven way of "fixing" a child of it's identity. Maybe this Dr. Zucker needs to watch NOVA's documentary Sex: Unknown.

There used to be a time when we would smack children for being left handed as this was also seen as a form of disability according to psychology. Now we have come to learn that the smacking has caused more harm than good. Besides that - what does it matter what hand a child is using. So, what does it matter if a child has the ability to self identify as transgender. Let's help them in a caring and safe way - not having them (re)traumatized by some Dr. who has no clue what it feels like being transgender in the first place. Besides that, his message is only adding fuel to the fire of society who can only see black or white and nothing in between. This is very dangerous (so was my government 1938-1945).
