2022 Workshop Proposal

Our Fifteenth Annual Transgender Lives: The Intersection of Health and Law Conference will be held on April 30, 2022 at the UConn Health Center in Farmington, Ct. In preparation for this conference we are announcing our CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS for the conference. The conference is for Service Providers, Medical and Legal Professionals, Trans and Gender non-conforming community, allies and all those interested in the Health and Law issues facing the Trans and gender non-conforming communities.

The goal of the Trans Health and Law conference is for participants to gain a better understanding of the issues facing transgender and gender non-conforming individuals.

This year some of the workshops topics we are looking for are on the following:

  • Health and transitional health care

  • Legal protections and documentation

  • Employment and education

  • Life and family issues

  • Partner(s) and family

  • Health care coverage & government guidelines

  • Aging transgender population

  • Policy/civil rights

  • New guidelines for travel

  • Improvement in your gender presentation

  • Middle of the road concerns

  • Allies

You can submit your workshop electronically this year by clicking the link below titled: Submit Your Proposal. This will be an online form that explains all relevant details for submission and importantly will allow you to fill out your proposal online. We encourage you to submit your proposal as soon as possible.

All room have a computer, a projector, the PowerPoint app and all you have to bring is a USB drive.

As this conference has dramatically grown over the years, we recognize that many of you have very important topics and experience which fold into our theme of The Intersection of Health and Law. Workshop space is limited and all proposals will be reviewed for applicability and relevance to the Conference theme and audience.
